A little surgery

The little princess had hernia surgery. She was such a trooper, the nurse said she was the BEST patient ever, no tears from her. On the other hand mommy and daddy were patiently waiting, nervous and praying. These kind of moment are just no fun for parents. Taelor you are such an amazing strong little girl. You took the pain like a big girl, and never complained once. If only adults could bounce back as fast as children do. Our weekend was mellow and I enjoyed all the snuggles I got from her.

Staycation vacation...

One great thing about year round school is the 3 weeks of Fall break late September early October. We decided to have a staycation vacation and it was the best week. We had a fun filled week and it was great to have some family time. We spent a day at the California Science Center and saw the Endeavor shuttle (which Ethan thought was SO cool). I am pretty sure they were the only kids in the museum which made it that much better since that museum is very hands on and we didn't have to fight any crowds. We spent a day at the beach, yes the beach in September, it was around 80 degrees so it was perfect. Then we headed to San Diego one day to see the USS Midway, well let's just say the cramped spaces and creepy ship was not on Taelor's list of things to do and needless to say the first step into the tiny corridor and we had a meltdown. Bless her little heart, we only made it through one area and had to make our way up to the aircraft carriers and even that she was not to fond of. Ethan on the other hand was in his element and sat in all the planes, listened so intently on the headphones learning about the ship, he truly enjoyed himself. So I don't think we will be making our way EVER again to the USS Midway with Taelor, I am pretty sure she is quite ok with that. All in all it was a great week, a relaxing week, a time to spend with family and a time to not think of work all week. Sometimes the staycations are the best "vacations".

Apple picking time...

It was the first day of Fall and it was the MOST perfect day to go apple picking up at Oak Glen. The air was crisp, clean, and the skies were blue. We spent the day picking pounds of apples, picnicking, laying on the grass, enjoying the quietness around us and the silly laughter that surrounded us from the kids. It was a a day trip that slowed our busy lives down, to spend family time together and enjoy a yearly tradition.

After coming home with who knows how many apples the kids wanted apple pie, so I made my first homemade apple pie and it was delicious...or at least they all thought so. I can't wait for this Fall season. I am looking forward to soccer, some time off work, crisp air, boots, scarves and blankets.

Sunday bliss...

Does an end of a Sunday get any better then this?? Pool time and a good book. Just what this momma needed to relax (a few weekends ago).

Painting...

This past weekend was a 3 day weekend but yet we remained indoors because little princess was sick with a fever all weekend. As it was nice to stay indoors all weekend since it has been so miserable, I mean so HOT out, keeping 2 little ones entertained while yet having your little sicky rest can be a bit challenging. There are only so many movies, TV shows, computer games you can play. So I broke out the water paints and off my little Picasso's started to paint. They were busy for over an hour, actually I think Ethan spent about 2 hours painting (with his tongue) out, concentrating so intensely. All in all I ended up with many paintings, happy little ones and one very relaxing weekend. Finally after 4 days of a fever the little princess is back to herself. Bless her little heart for not complaining all weekend. Goodbye summer fever, please do not come back and visit! But I will be happy to see Fall soon!

{First Tooth}...Taelor finally lost her tooth

After waiting SO long to loose a tooth, the day finally came! Taelor said "she had been waiting for this day her entire life!" I mean what else does an almost 7 year old think about when all of her friends have already lost 4 or more teeth. Well the day finally came while we were out to lunch with Grandma. It was such a big deal for Miss Taelor, she finally was able to use her tooth fairy pillow and we read Silverlicious before bed. Something about loosing your baby teeth make them seem like such big kids. I love my toothless little one! Hope the toothfairy will be good to you my sweet princess...and I hope it wasn't your sweet tooth :)
