This past weekend I got to spend a little time away with the greatest group of girls celebrating a wonderful Bride to Be, Lauren. We had lots of fun in Palm Desert at the JW Marriott, even though it was a bit on the windy cool side. But spending some time with 8 other girls in a nice 2 bedroom villa was nothing short of a good time, fun laughs, eating lots of junk food, drinking pina coladas, and plain great girl talk. It was a slumber party like we used to have when we younger. I feel absolutely blessed to have such a great group of girls that I work with who have become my everyday best friends! Thanks girls for a great weekend away and thanks to my wonderful husband who was feeling a little under the weather and still took care of the kids! And to Lauren, may you be blessed in your marriage forever!

I wrote this 20 years ago when I was 12, in 6th grade and kind of funny that I found this today as I was going through the box with my year books. This is what I thought my life would be like in 2011.... well sorry to tell my self bit I instead of USC I graduated from FIDM, I don't live in Palm Springs (probably wanted to live there since we vacationed there a lot growing up) but I live in a two story house in Irvine. I don't have 3 kids...yet, but that is still something I want. I didn't become a pediatrician, instead I am a Merchandise Planner, much more up my alley, hence why I went to FIDM. One thing for sure is that I did married a handsome man!!! And no I haven't done anything to help abused and neglected children, but that is always still on my heart and a passion of mine. Funny that I thought at the age of 12 that 32 was so far away and probably felt like an eternity away, but here I am 32 years old and I feel like being 12 was only a blink away. Life has gone by in a flash, it might not have been what I thought it was going to be when I was 12 but let me tell you its better, I love my life, my happy marriage, my husband, 2 kids and my job! Here is to another 20 years and whatever it may bring.

I look forward to this day every March when my whole family....yes I mean all 50+ of us get together for breakfast to celebrate all the 10 or so birthdays for the month. Taelor's Picks of the Oscar Dresses

Amy Adams...
"That is too sparkly" (mommy thinks it's pretty)
Annette Bening..."That looks like a spider web on her dress"
Gweneth Paltrow..."Pretty, but her hair is too straight" (meaning it's not all curly)
Helen Mirren..."She's a pretty Grandma"
(I wish I will look like that when I'm a Grandma)
Watching the Red Carpet to the Oscar's with my little fashionista was so much fun! She was head over heals over all the dresses (almost all of them). Taelor had her own opinions on all of them and I loved hearing her thoughts. I love the Oscar's, maybe it's because I LOVE movies, and because I LOVE seeing all the gorgeous gowns. Obviously Taelor only watched the Red Carpet with me (she is a much nicer critic than Joan Rivers and enjoys the fashion better than her daddy). I will look forward to this every year with my little critic Taelor by my side

Taelor's first visit to the ER
A few weeks ago Taelor had her first visit to the ER. She fell off the stool and split her chin open, luckily she was able to get the glue and was a trooper through the whole thing. Let me tell you that stuff is great, where was that stuff when I was a kid. It reminded me of when I was 4 years old and had my first stitches on my tongue. Hopefully we wont have to go back to the ER for a while!

Choking... what a scare
Tonight we experienced the biggest scare of our lives. I was sharing a frozen go-gurt, yes a go-gurt, with the kids after dinner when I was down to my last bite so I gave it to Ethan since he was a bit to timid to bite into the cold. I didn't think it was a big piece but next thing his face was gagging, he swallowed it whole and it was logged in his throat. He was panicking and so were we. We tried hitting his back, leaning him over all the while he was still gasping for air. I tried the heimlich maneuver but since I had never done it I didn't know what I was doing, what felt like an eternity was probably only 30 seconds maybe a minute, Saul tried then grabbed the phone to call 911. Saul gave him warm water and the long awaited gasp of air and his sweet crying voice saying "mommy" was a sigh of relief. Saul had only got to 91 so he hung up the phone. Let me tell you, this has been tearing at my heart all night, we were both shaking with the fear of our son gasping to breath. A few minutes later Ethan was back to his little self, making us laugh like always. When things like this happens it makes you realize a few things, that we were at a loss of what to do, we both don't know CPR and so we will be taking a class very soon. It also makes you realize that your childs life is your world and nothing is more important than that. The lesson we take from this is that we need to be prepared, always be cautious of what our kids are eating, they are only 3 & 4 they still need smaller bites, something I forget too often. Even a simple frozen go-gurt can do more harm than we thought. I am grateful that this situation turned out ok but it still makes my heart ache. So be careful with your kids, and love them everyday they are the best God given gifts.

Women 2 Women ministry
I can't begin to tell you how excited I am for this season in my life. I am involved in an amazing ministry at our church called Women 2 Women. You get paired up with another women either as a mentor or mentee. I am a mentee and I have an amazing mentor who is such a wonderful womanof God. This mentorship is group at, we can discuss anything, read a book, study a chapter in the bible, it is up to us. We have decided to read this great book called the Travelers Gift. It has great insight as to how to be successful and his way of bringing in his faith into the book is really good. So needless to say I am excited for these next few months to see what God is going to do in both of our lives.
