Sad. Tear. Happy. Big Boy. Our little man turned 5 at the beginning of March. When did this happen? Where did the last year go, or the last 5 years go. It feels like in a blink of an eye he was 1, then 2, then 3, 4 and now 5! Our sweet little guy is now a big boy, growing up to be such a handsome, charming, funny, kind, cheeky, little one who brightens our days with his laughter and smiles. This past year he has grown so much, he started preschool and loves his teacher and friends so much. He has the best sense of humor, has more energy then anyone I know, loves cars, loves his stuffed animals (especially Ted, and Pup, they never leave his side). He is a charmer at heart, who picks me flowers almost every day, tells his sister how pretty she looks, he can smile with his eyes, have tears (crocodile tears) come to his eyes in seconds and has the most funniest facial expressions. You are a sensitive, yet strong little guy, who always puts his sister first and has a big heart for Jesus. You love superheros (Capt America is your favorite), your love for cars goes beyond any other toy. You love to pretend and dress up in Indiana Jones, Capt Hook, Pirate or anything else you can throw on. Of course he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up, but please done grow up too fast, because I really love you little. Your sweetness melts my heart. You can fall asleep just about anywhere (you have always been a good sleeper). When you are tired, your tired, no questions ask, you will head to your bed. Ethan you are a boy who can and will do amazing things in life. You are our sunshine, our sweet love, and of course our little man (and for sure momma's little boy). You are a perfect son and we love you. May your world always be looked at through your innocent eyes, may you dream big dreams, enjoy life as a 5 year old, don't grow up too fast, always say I love you and ALWAYS give your momma kisses! We love you Ethan! Happy Birthday!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Those sneaky little leprechauns...
It was the night before St. Patrick's Day and the kids were SO excited to see if the leprechauns were going to come visit our house and they were both determined to catch one of the sneaky little guys. As I went to check in on the kids before I headed to bed, I saw that Ethan so cleverly made his own "trap" with guys on guard and coins as bait to catch the cheeky little guys. Taelor made a trap for a school project and boy did those little green guys make a mess of the kindergarten class! Well they sure did come to our house BUT unfortunately we didn't catch one. Maybe next year we will catch those guys in their tracks.

It's almost beach time
We have had some pretty beautiful weekends lately, just getting in time for Spring. Our family LOVES the beach and we had some great days walking along the boardwalk and letting the kids run in the sand and collect seashells. Life doesn't get any better then this I must say...
Sunset time...
The hubby and I had the perfect day/night date a few weeks ago thanks to my parents taking the kids the entire day and night! We walked along the beach in Balboa Island, one of my most favorite places! The day was perfect and the sunset couldn't of been any more beautiful! Love spending time with the hubs, just him and I! Love you babe!

Twins...or so they hope they could be
They dressed themselves today so they could be twins. I think somedays they really think they are twins since so many people ask now a days. I guess that's what happens when you are only 14 months apart! I love them!

Valentine's Day
How is is that Our sweet little, quiet girl received her first Valentine from her cute little "friend boy"?!? Even though it tugged at my heart that he bought her a box of chocolates, I was secretly giddy for her. It was so cute seeing her smile so shyly when he gave her her first Valentine! Of course I couldn't just buy store bought Valentine's (actually they were given a choice and Taelor said "no that is too boring"...I mean she is my daughter) so instead we cut out and hole punched 50 hearts and pencils. I tried to get the hubs to help but he said, "that's your deal" ...meaning I should have just bought the "made ones" from the store!! Well 2 nights later we were done and they were beyond excited to hand them out at school! It was worth it!
The first few days of February we had 14 days of love with sweet little notes and treats for our little Valentine's! They were so excited every morning to see what love note they received. It was a fun month of LOVE!
At the end of the day my Ahh-mazing Mother in Love delivered her homemade yummy s'mores cupcakes! She's truly the best!!

Pictures are priceless...
Catching up with life....finding time to sit and blog, well just hasn't been happening. After the kiddies are tucked in bed, sitting on the couch cuddling with the hubs a blanket and good old TV shows is so much better. But since I take so many pictures here is our life in pictures over the last month...

Walks around the lake...
A little scooter ride around the lake can wear you out and sometimes you just need a break to sit on the rocks and pretend to fish with a stick...

January...Hello 2013
It seems like the New Year just started but yet Spring is practically here already. How does life seem to go by in a flash even when you try and slow it down. This year I have vowed to myself that I will NOT fill my weekends with "busy" stuff to do and keep more time for us. This doesn't mean that I will say no to everything, I will just be a little more picky on the things I am commiting myself to these days. With working during the week, I need my weekends to be spent relaxing, doing spontaneous things with the kids, enjoying each other, yet while seeing the friends and family we have. So here's to 2013 and changes, slowing down and enjoying life.
This month we celebrated, well, ME. I turned THIRTY-four this year (which means I am still in my "early" thirties...at least until next year). I had a great birthday with my sweet little family and my friends. A few my close girlfriends and I went to the cutest little tea house called Paris in a Cup in the Orange Circle and enjoyed an afternoon sipping tea, laughing and just being ladies. It was a perfect day. Working on your birthday doesn't always sound the best, but when you work with some pretty awesome friends then you know it will never disappoint. To my surprise my office had been decorated with new pillows, a clock, table lamp, and a new picture frames. My work friends are truly the BEST!! Thank you friends who made my day extra special. The hubby and I were able to get out for dinner over the weekend and celebrate by birthday which is always a treat in itself. the kiddos always make my birthday extra special by just being themselves, making me a bowl of cheerios with a blueberry face ( I know not much of a breakfast, but like I said I had to work that day so it needed to be something fast), their handmade cards are always my favorite. Dinner was spent with my parents, sister and M-in-love, and the kiddies of course. It was a perfect day, just how I like my birthdays!
