Apple picking time...

It was the first day of Fall and it was the MOST perfect day to go apple picking up at Oak Glen. The air was crisp, clean, and the skies were blue. We spent the day picking pounds of apples, picnicking, laying on the grass, enjoying the quietness around us and the silly laughter that surrounded us from the kids. It was a a day trip that slowed our busy lives down, to spend family time together and enjoy a yearly tradition.

After coming home with who knows how many apples the kids wanted apple pie, so I made my first homemade apple pie and it was delicious...or at least they all thought so. I can't wait for this Fall season. I am looking forward to soccer, some time off work, crisp air, boots, scarves and blankets.

Sunday bliss...

Does an end of a Sunday get any better then this?? Pool time and a good book. Just what this momma needed to relax (a few weekends ago).

Painting...

This past weekend was a 3 day weekend but yet we remained indoors because little princess was sick with a fever all weekend. As it was nice to stay indoors all weekend since it has been so miserable, I mean so HOT out, keeping 2 little ones entertained while yet having your little sicky rest can be a bit challenging. There are only so many movies, TV shows, computer games you can play. So I broke out the water paints and off my little Picasso's started to paint. They were busy for over an hour, actually I think Ethan spent about 2 hours painting (with his tongue) out, concentrating so intensely. All in all I ended up with many paintings, happy little ones and one very relaxing weekend. Finally after 4 days of a fever the little princess is back to herself. Bless her little heart for not complaining all weekend. Goodbye summer fever, please do not come back and visit! But I will be happy to see Fall soon!

{First Tooth}...Taelor finally lost her tooth

After waiting SO long to loose a tooth, the day finally came! Taelor said "she had been waiting for this day her entire life!" I mean what else does an almost 7 year old think about when all of her friends have already lost 4 or more teeth. Well the day finally came while we were out to lunch with Grandma. It was such a big deal for Miss Taelor, she finally was able to use her tooth fairy pillow and we read Silverlicious before bed. Something about loosing your baby teeth make them seem like such big kids. I love my toothless little one! Hope the toothfairy will be good to you my sweet princess...and I hope it wasn't your sweet tooth :)

Family time...

A few weeks ago we set off looking for a new park and some hiking trails and we stumbled upon this really cute park, called Pioneer Railroad Park in Tustin. Cute place and a splash pad for hot days. Then we made our way to Anaheim Hills for some hiking. It was a perfect day for us Williams!

On being a Mommy....

The day starts out with little smiles at my bedside, little voices that say "good morning, come on mom, get out, I am ready for breakfast". As I slowly open my eyes and see two little cuties smiling, it starts my day off just right. As I make my way out of bed, they head to the couch, turn the TV on and patiently wait until I am ready. "Can we have breakfast now?" asks Ethan. Then it's Trader Joe's O's (Cheerios) for Ethan and Vanilla almond granola cereal for the princess. The 3 of us sit quietly at the table eating our breakfast, me thinking of my day ahead of me and them watching cartoons while s-l-o-w-l-y eating (the only time they get to watch TV while eating), daddy quietly joins us, normally making his way to the couch first. 20 minutes has gone by and I am finished, making lunches, getting backpacks packed and they are STILL eating. Does anyone else's children take this long to eat!?! But I enjoy these quiet moments with them, it starts my day off just right. I am glad I take the time to enjoy breakfast with them, even if no words are exchanged, even if it is just silence, no rushing, just simply enjoying the moment. Even though most of my days are filled with chaos and busyness of work, I can only look forward to coming home to my sweet little family. I hope these quiet morning breakfast moments never end.

Back to School 2013...

Today was another big milestone in the Williams Family...both kids are now in Elementary school...sigh...
Taelor started First grade, such a big girl going all day to school. She was so excited all weekend to go back to school, I think mainly to find out who was in her class and to see her friends she hadn't seem in 5 weeks (such a long time in a 6 year olds life). The anticipation of finding out who her teacher was and having me text her friends to see who they got also reminded me of being in elementary school. Her teacher Miss A seems very nice and I heard all great things about her. Her little desk was so cute and she seemed so big in the classroom. Taelor will flourish this year I know she will, as she has already been telling us about the "new rules first graders have". I mean First grade is just "big kid" status now and you need to be more independent (just not sure mommy is ready for all this growing up!) I am looking forward to seeing Taelor grow this year and all the fun learning that she will do. My sweet girl I know you will do well and conquer first grade!

Ethan, my baby boy is now a "big kid" in Kindergarten. He was so excited to start school, but yet a bit nervous, but you wouldn't know it from his cute little smile and little waving hands saying goodbye as he walked away into Room 2 with Mrs. Wang (he was so excited he has Taelor's teacher also). Even before he entered the room he had already make a friend Noah who he hit it off with instantly. As I watched him head into the classroom with a huge smile, a huge backpack that was down to his knees, a cute little wave and a smile with his eyes, I knew I was letting go of my baby into the big kid school. A place where he will grow, learn new things, meet new friends and make new memories.

I pray they both have a great year ahead of them, that they hold their innocence close to their heart, flourish in all subjects, be respectful, kind and loving. I pray for a year that Taelor finds her inner voice and that Ethan uses his outgoing personality to fill another child's life. I love you both more than you will ever know. I want life to freeze for a moment so I can soak these moments in! Here's to another school year of many blessings!

Yes, that is right I am officially a "Great Auntie" and I am in LOVE with my little sweet adorable great nephew Deizel! I still can't believe my first niece is now a mommy, I can remember the day she was born!
