Our little miracle has arrived!!!
Taelor Madison Williams was born on Sunday, December 31, 2006 at 12:19 am.(Just in time for our tax deduction!) Weighing in at 7 lbs 14 oz and 20 inches long. (I know, a big girl). The day was very long and here is how it played out:
Saturday morning:
3am-4am: awoke by contractions 6-7 minutes apart
4am-5am: contractions were getting stronger and 3-4 minutes apart
5:30am: left for the hospital
Contractions were about 2-3 minutes apart when we arrived at the hospital and I was only dialated to 1 1/2 cm, I was afraid they were going to send me home or send me walking as they normally do not admit you until you are 3 cm, but the nurse said there was no way I was going home, I was having very strong contractions and we were in it for the long haul, and the long haul it was. By 8am I was in pain (all back labor), I was able to take Nubain which took the edge off for a bit, but the contractions were coming on stronger as the Nubain wore off.
12 pm- I got an epidural and WOW did that feel good. Instant relief, and I was feeling good for the next 6 hours until pressure started to sink in.
2pm- The Dr. broke my water and I was given potocin to increase the strength of the contractions.
5pm- I was only dilated to 6 cm, it was then I knew she was not coming anytime soon. I started having major pressure as she was sitting on my tail bone and she was sunny side up which made it even worse.
Hours later...9pm- finally dilated to 10cm and fully effaced! But I had to wait to push since she was not down far enough. The pressure was building and getting more uncomfortable, I knew the end was nearing soon (or at least I thought).
10-10:30pm- started doing practice pushes, but had to stop, the Dr. did not want all the strain on the baby or on me. I waited for another miserable hour of major pressure.
11:30pm- more practice pushes for 20 minutes, this helped bring her down and we were finally ready for the Dr.
12am- Dr. finally arrived, she got all situated, I pushed 4 times through one contraction and little Taelor joined us at 12:19am!!
12:19am- Taelor arrived and mom felt much relief and all the pain I was feeling was gone and all worth it as was the wait. Saul said it was the most amazing experience he has ever been through.
Thanks to Saul, my wonderful husband, if it was not for him and God, I would not have been able get through this how I did. Saul kept me going with his love and support the whole time. Our breathing techniques we learned in our classes even came in handy ( I am surprised we remembered them). I have been blessed to have him in my life and I love him for all he did for me that night.
After a long day and night of labor, Saul and I finally had our little girl we had been waiting for. We were in heaven. Words can't even express the feelings and emotions we had that evening. The love we have for our daughter is amazing and grows each and every minute. She is perfect in our eyes and we love her to pieces. She has brought so much into our lives already and we are so in love with her. She is our little princess.
Adjusting to parenthood has been great, a bit tiring but all worth it. Our first night home was a bit rough...we did not get to sleep until 5am! But the other nights since have been good. We have managed to get at least 6 hours of sleep if not more a night (of course interrupted sleep). Everyday we thank God for the amazing and wonderful gift He has given us. We are such proud parents and cannot wait to see what lies ahead for us in the future. We stare at her every minute and cannot believe we are finally parents. We have been waiting for this for so long and we cannot be any happier then we are now.
We look forward to everyone meeting our little princess Taelor. She is so wonderful, beautiful, and healthy. She is doing well as am I. Just adjusting to motherhood and I love it so far. Thank you to everyone who gave us so much support in the hospital, to our families who stayed the whole time, we appreciate it very much, thank you.
We have started a new chapter in our lives and we look foward to the wonderful memories we are about to have and cherish for a lifetime.
Continue to pray for our family. We love all of you. Hope you enjoy the pictures. You will continue to get updates and pictures of our little one, as I already had over 200 pictures and she was only 2 days old!
